This stunning home has all the architectural street credit a Mid Century devotee could desire! Renowned architects Donald Wexler and Ric Harrison designed this home in the early 1960s. Our Glass and Steel House is only one of seven and was built specifically to resist desert elements with ease. Enjoy remarkable mountain views through 8ft glass panels. Relax in the backyard featuring a private heated (for additional fee) saltwater pool and BBQ Grill.

The Alexander Construction Company built this home in 1962. This home is one of only two boasting the signature folded-plate roofline, which gives this property its iconic, sought-after aesthetic. Wexler himself consulted on the tasteful restoration of this property, making it one of his last projects.

To the left of the foyer, enter the dining and living area with an outdoor patio, and to the right, enter the family room leading out to the large, private backyard with a boomerang-shaped pool. Separated by the open and bright kitchen, both living areas showcase the unique interior ceiling and mountain views through expansive clerestory windows. Walk down the hall to discover a bright Guest room with a King bed, mountain views and patio access, a guest bathroom with a laundry area, and the Primary bedroom, which also boasts a King bed, views, outdoor access, and an en-suite full bath.

The house features original artworks and sculptures that were carefully curated by the owner, who thought of everything when decorating this mid-century home to create the perfect Palm Springs modernist oasis.

PARKING:
*Carport and driveway with space for 2 vehicles maximum.
*Parking may be too narrow for large SUV/pickup trucks.
*Never block any driveway or street access.
*Street parking is not permitted.

Other things to note

Home Truths:
*Potential For Noise - There is a development project on the West side of the property. They typically work from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday to Saturday.
*Glazing is single pane, so outside can be heard.
*Humming from pool filter from 9am-4pm.
*Hot water is on-demand (tankless heater)
*Artwork and sculptures are original and not to be touched or moved. Some pieces of furniture are mid-century originals and need to be handled with care.
*The pool can get dirty very quickly at times due to desert weather. We'll do our best to get the pool company out there as soon as possible.
*The pool is not very deep and is not meant for diving. Please, watch your children closely in the pool, and swim at your own risk. Never let children unattended in the pool area.
*It can be very windy in the area; umbrellas MUST be removed from stands when not in use or windy. If umbrellas are broken due to wind damage, guests will be charged a replacement fee.
*Cleaning supplies are in places that children can easily access. Please take caution.
*Backyard is close to the neighbor, so staying within the noise ordinance is very important!
*The home is near the airport path, so noise can sometimes be heard.

We would deduct from the security deposit any fines, citations, or penalties imposed against us for actions triggering a violation of the City of Palm Springs. See examples of such in our House Rules.

In the City of Palm Springs, the primary Occupant must be at least 25 years of age or older. By continuing with this reservation, the primary Occupant represents that they are older than 25 years of age and further warrants that other occupants are either over the age of 25 or are accompanied by an adult guardian.

NOISE: Palm Springs has strict ordinances that govern vacation rentals. In particular, we want you to note that "NO outside music is allowed at vacation rental homes." We all love our tunes out by the pool, but it's just not allowed by law. Music is not to be heard at the property lines at any time of the day (including music coming from inside the home). Please abide by this rule, so you don't get fined by the police and so we don't lose our vacation rental permit.

Pool Heating and Utilities:
*Pool heating cost $50/day ($200 min per stay)
*Please inquire about extra fees if booking long (28+ night) stays;
*Pool heating is always limited to 82F so that the equipment is not impacted by overuse;
*Pool is not heated during the Summer months (June-August), but the water is usually 80+ naturally;
*Guests won't be able to set the AC thermostat below 76F (cooling) since this would freeze and damage the system;
*Any tampering with or overriding of our settings will result in a complete loss of the amenity and security deposit forfeiture;
*Hosts will not be able to provide any refunds for occasional non-working pool heating during your stay, but we will do our best to resolve it quickly.

Guests will be charged the TOT and TBID taxes.

No one likes rules, least of all, us -- but we do have a few requirements so that the home is in as perfect a shape for each guest as possible.

-Please respect check-in and checkout times.

-Primary renter must be over the age of 25.

-Host may request a photocopy of renter's ID for verification before check-in.

-This is a private property and the host reserves the right to access the property at any time to perform maintenance repairs necessary or requested by the renter.

-Landscaping & Pool maintenance schedule: we are unable to offer refunds or credits for inconveniences due to scheduling and maintenance done during your stay. We also request that our maintenance teams are not turned away if they should overlap your stay. Such instances can result in a $100 penalty as we will still incur a 'show up' charge, even if no work is performed.

-Absolutely no parties or loud music.

-This is a NON-SMOKING property.

-This is a pet-friendly spot. If you are allergic or don't like pets, this might not be a good fit!

PET POLICY:

-One adult dog up to 50lbs allowed. Cats are not allowed anytime.

-Dog must be house and potty trained and cannot be left alone or on furniture.

-Pet fee is required and non refundable

-Guest assumes full responsibility for all and any damage caused by the pet during the stay. Pet fee is not meant to cover accidents to carpets and/or furniture, nor picking up after your dog or excessive fur cleaning; pet owner will be held responsible for all and any damages.

-Please do not let your dog go in the pool to avoid additional charges.

-If pets were to be brought without our consent and knowledge, guests will have to pay twice the pet fee or will have their reservation cancelled immediately.

PET ETIQUETTE:

-Control their barking - if you have a loud dog, please never leave it in the home alone.

-Don’t let them treat everything like a fire hydrant (inside and outside the home).

-Play is fun, but silence is golden - be respectful of the neighbors.

-Keep them on leash while outside the home.

-Always pick up after your dog.

-Wash those paws and minimize bringing messes inside the home.

*Our pricing does not include pool heating; fee is $50/day with a minimum of $200 per stay

***URGENT - PLEASE READ ***

Due to new stricter regulations in Palm Springs, now every guest who books a Vacation Rental in the city is required to receive the Good Neighbor Brochure and also have all guests in the party fill out and sign the Statement of Rules BEFORE having access to the property. In addition to that, we need a list of all guests' vehicles, including license plate numbers and also a copy of your Government ID.

As the person booking this property, you are the main point of contact and person responsible for ensuring your guests comply with the house rules and City rules. Please be advised that the City will fine renters in $500 per occurrence without notice if they fail to comply with the local ordinance.

The main sources of violations are:

-An excessive and unaccounted number of guests onsite

-An excessive number of cars

-Loud outdoor music (and this includes playing music from inside the home so you can hear it outside)

-Trash left outside and on sight

Please send us the FIRST and LAST NAMES and EMAILS from every adult staying at the house.

Only registered guests as listed on the rental agreement should be on the premises. No additional guests or visitors allowed.

*The current emergency orders in place supersede information in the Good Neighbor Brochure and the Rental Certificate regarding daytime guests.

We apologize for any inconvenience, however, the City of Palm Springs is not treating this lightly and everyone has to obey and adapt to the new scenario.
