Misrepresented Positive: The general location of the property is fine--close to the beach not on the beach. We like walking on the Strand, so the location and proximity to downtown Manhattan Beach works. Negative: Steep uphill climb from the beach which is about 300 yards to the water. It looks closer to the beach in the ad. The property does have good views and a modern design but has years of deferred maintenance. When we paid our money, the pictures were marvelous (probably from years ago) with a beautiful, operational jacuzzi. Surprise! .... When we got there the jacuzzi was ice cold, non functional, and the patio was in general disrepair. I phoned the management team, they agreed that the ad was a misrepresentation. Although architecturally interesting, due to deferred maintenance, the house would be classified as a "fix up". If you have a family the upstairs/downstairs arrangement would work well--especially if you have teenagers. For us, it ended up being overkill. It was just my wife and I looking forward to a lovely romantic weekend, bathing suits, wine on the terrace, etc. Can't win them all but the owner should have rebated us some dollars due to their admitted misrepresentation on the jacuzzi and the general disrepair of the patio furniture. The ad shows a tantalizing hot tube jacuzzi with a view of the ocean--false advertising for sure. A jacuzzi/hot tub is a big part of why you step up and pay extra money and choose one property over another. For the above reasons, this stay was quite overpriced and not a good value. The microwave also was on the fritz. Owners and managers need to be better than that in today's world. Pamper the customer and you will see them again. It needs interior paint in many areas. The views out the windows are still very nice--I would pay $1200 a night for sure but we paid $5,000 for a 3 night stay. Without the false advertising, we would not pay that much for this property. Because it was misrepresented and the management would not take ownership of their misrepresentation and lack of disclosure, they should have adjusted the price.

I think Jennifer's review was pretty accurate. Great location (walking distance to beach, restaurants, shops) and great view, but the place needs some attention. Lots of stains on the walls and more paint chips than I expected (I have reasonable expectations after staying at many airbnbs - I don't expect perfection). Cleanliness was ok, but there was some dust, and the outside furniture was pretty nasty. Some things (besides the hot tub and steam shower) need fixing. Note also that the property is on quite a busy street. At night it wasn't noisy, but during the day the sound of traffic drowned out the sound of the waves from the beach. I think if someone reads these reviews and has appropriate expectations, this will be a very good place to stay.

The unit was a beautiful and comfortable stay. Everything in the unit worked as described. The views are incredible. Will always try to stay here every visit.
